Analysis of Under The Microscope

That bright white light again!
For heaven’s sake, why can’t they ever look
at someone new? A little privacy, perhaps?
 (Hey, point that thing the other way!)
But no, it’s regular as cuckoo clockwork.
Every now and then a bath. Some neutral,
clear solution, feels like.
 (All the better to see you with, my dear!)
Always at the wrong end of that
silly lens. But that’s all right.
Before too long we’ll all crawl out of here
and sneak a look ourselves.
 (I hear the view from Mars is beautiful!)
