Analysis of Twilight
I saw the sun fall away
Motioning the end of day
Handfuls of light were left in the atmosphere
Dripping across the sky, somewhere near
Me, I could see the world around
Every breath and cry that nature would sound
But still it was, as day slipped underneath
The pocket of earth that lies beneath
Even as the stars blinked awake
The last sun ray could not break
As steady as a paint stroke and faint as a wing
It stroked every blade of grass and watery spring
Night was a warrior it was marching on fast
I could feel in the moment, only minutes would last
The wind brushing my skin held electricity
Closing my eyes, breathing in, life circled around me
Standing in the twilight, my voice rose to confess
Even under the moon, everything shined in a way unexpressed
