Analysis of The Voice (And Words)

Softly rendered away and meant to soothe
The aching heart with words and music
From earthly angels without wings,
It makes the spirit sing along...
Or alone--in the stillness of silence.
And when it is loud and ear-splitting,
It wakes the sleeping giant within--
To shout like thunder. And--
When in a speech, it rants to a point
Of bullying and spewing fire and brimstone,
The heavenly angels with wings
Are made to keep their distance...
With closed eyes and covered ears.
There is no utterance from a loving
And caring someone, whether near or far,
As meaningful as these magical words:
"It's always nice to hear your voice."
And when it is natural and uncontrived,
To a loved one, it is as sweet as
The winged angels' own, if not as God's.
