Analysis of Still Active

From infancy to seventy, how the years have flown.
Although it is universal
this time it is my own.
The mind-memory still functions, how old tales remain.
Although recent facts are hazy
traces are in my brain.
The volcano is still active, how etched the routine.
Although eruptions are fewer
it feels like seventeen.
The winning drive is still present, how deep the desire.
Although it's inconsequential
"first-place" ignites a fire.
The muscles still have memory, how well they are trained.
Although the body knows its course
endurance is what's strained.
The spiritual is still speaking, how patient the voice.
Although the spirit's salvation
is a matter of choice.
