Analysis of Siren's Eyes
Dressed in the lake, she shone like the sun,
-(in the battle for my heart, she'd already won.)
Bathing the dingy tavern in a radiance
-(through the smoke, I could smell her fragrance,)
That was nothing short of blinding.
-(a sweet smell that sent my synapses grinding.)
But like a moth lured to the light,
-(who won't even try to put up a fight,)
I couldn't resist the draw of her eyes.
-(pools of jade giving the greatest of highs,)
I knew she belonged to another,
-(a perpetual high sweeter than any other,)
A man I called a close friend,
-(the kind of high that you never want to end.)
But how could I help but desire
-(oh, how my heart burned with a fire,)
Something so captivatingly lovely?
-(the flames scorched the sky high above me,)
Can I really be blamed
-(my body, utterly aflame,)
For wanting what any man
-(so hot I could barely stand.)
Would have to be crazy not to?
