Analysis of Sad Times

Last year
in mid-june; in core summer
while the sun was shinning
and other hopes were rising
her heart was broken
cos he wasn't down no more
her source of love
smashed against a rock
shattered to a million pieces
it could not contain
no empathy she could find
no comfort she could absorb

so she went by the seas shores
and sat on a cliffy rock
where there is solace
so the waves can empathise with her
and the tides can bring her good tidings
and she felt tranquillity
only when she cried a million tears
every drop encased tearfully
in it, a fragment of her heart
dropping into the sea
ripples insignificant

mixing with the sea
from salt unto salt
joining the ocean stream
flowing into oblivion
lost in the mysteries
and wonders of the endless blue
now she has no heart
her feelings have been speared
her emotions have been pierced
her sentiments sheared
that she loves no more

she gives compassion no more
though there is healing
but her heart did not heal
now she stands in the middle
where feelings don't give
she can take but she won't barter
not even an ounce of emotion
not for anything
not for anything!

David Abraham

Here, an opportunity to say a big THANK YOU to ALMIGHTY GOD for giving me the gift of poetry, it is indeed a beautiful thing especially the positive energy of expression and the passion. I discovered my gift of writing and poetry quite early but only much later in my life did I start to put it to use. I was quite active in the old poetry.com and won one poetic pin, several poetic accolades and one of the poets of the year in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. Presently, am writing my second unpublished inspirational book and also putting together a poetic book due to be published later in the year. email address: mypoeticcareer@yahoo.com.
