Analysis of Oh For The Love Of Self Pity
"I'm fine, leave me alone!" Actually
this gutter is pretty comfortable,
all mistakes float past me into the drain,
and I can't help but smile for tomorrow
shall kiss these lips with determination,
today's just a quick step back to bring pause.
"For God's sake leave me alone! Let me be,
I am perfectly happy to be here."
Those garbage looks and plastic concerns drip
from their noses like delicious green snot,
let the tongue slip the texture a high five.
"Oh for the love of self pity, sod off!"
I suppose I had better get up then
before the police drag me to their lair
as wild lashes of screams might be too much
for such a sensitive public to bear.
"Yes, thanks, please give me your hand and I'll stand,
perhaps I could trouble you for the price
of a decent breakfast? I've not eaten
in days? I hope that is not too forward?"
And I brush down their shameful looks with ease,
I don't give a damn if they think I'm sad,
this time next week I'll be flying so high,
I'll remember this moment and laugh,
still, I'm here now, I might as well give God
a wink as the dark cloud is pushed away.
