Analysis of My Shoes
They say your suppose to walk a mile in someone's shoes to see what their life is about
But don't forget about your socks
Forget a mile, if you had on mine you couldn't walk from here to the top of the block
I got a hole in my heart that works like a garbage disposal
Chip on my shoulder cuz the world didn't give me a proper proposal
Also I got an ambitious star in my head like the helmet of Dallas's
So try to throw on my shoes you might mess around and get calluses
Athlete's foot and something sore for those of you that aren't sure
Can't try to trade them in to the store, no cream or any pedicures
No shoe laces, the tongue is missing
Don't freak out cuz they look a little different
Holes has been burned into the shoes cuz I walked through Hell with Satin
That is my metaphor for the world cuz I have been busy contemplating
Busy debating cuz I been living through a terrible sensation
So don't feel awkward when my shoes look like they are having a conversation
Then you think it's poetically impossible for me to be better you
( Laughs )
"Yea right, that will be the day that Hell freezes over"
Well my words are cold enough to give the Devil a flu
So that must mean that day is getting closer
All these other poets are my children, I gotta feed them poems to please their appetites
When they take a journey through my poetry I gotta make sure they make it back before the night
This big responsibility I gotta face
Cuz of all this semen that I placed
Inside the uterine of the earth
To bestow knowledge for my audience whom I thought it was worth
If you want me to try to fill yours, to see if I can do what you do
I'll throw them things on and my feet will bust right through the toe of the shoe
I could use a advocate, or a social helper
I got way too much on my plate, I could feed a homeless shelter
Who wants seconds?
Well here take these keys to your new estate home with you
A fresh pair of Nikes as well, try them on and see if they fit you
The checks and balances of poetry, I delivered you a brand new life
Take your riches and pay for a fairytale price
All these opinions but one true fact
I can't be you and you can't be me so we might as well trade our shoes back
