12 years

12 years

It's been 12 years since this father has last seen his daughter
He paid no mind to all the misery and disrespect that he brought her
12 years ago was birth, responsibility confronted this man
Frightened by responsibility, he took off and ran
Unemployed and in debt
He felt an emotional disconnect
Swimming in the problem pool up to his neck
He left his family to drown, and wanted nothing but death
12 years of her life is what he missed
12 years of absence apparently was his gift
She was learning robotics
While he was abusing narcotics
The very heroin that flowed through his veins
Mended the pain
Of him not even thinking about his daughter's name

One day when the beautiful sky hang
3 o'clock when the school bell rang
Heaven had left and then Hell came
An impulse caused by his addiction, made him want to look in the eyes of his first and only child
Though since her eyes didn't recognize his she did not smile
With an awkward introduction he lured her away
After becoming frighten and confused, he dragged her to the vacant alley way
It's been 12 years since his last intercourse with a woman of his desire
He has gone through 12 years of lustful thoughts of the admired
Virginity was a present from God, he unraveled the ribbons
A decision that required an incision
The filth and stench that bestowed upon his rough rugged body
The physical struggle that ended up with her being forced beyond the lobby
The meanest set of clouds began to hover over the sky
As his penis entered between her thighs
Just as tears from the little girl's eyes began to start
The father planted seeds into his daughter's private parts
The forbidden garden that didn't need any plants
Which the roots started from the inside of his pants
Plotted up against a building, laying on top of dirt and beetles
Transmitted diseases being transferred cuz of shared needles
Daddy's little girl
Became a victim in this cold world
Taking his mouth away from her blouse, he zips up his fly
He kisses her on the lips and takes one last look in her eyes
All the bad blood became spilled
The 12 year gap has been filled

12 years later she celebrated her son's 12 year old birthday
12 years later she celebrated the anniversary her father's death day
12 years is a curse

Tylee Martin Claim this poet

This is Tylee and I want to apologize for my egotistic behavior. Everyone on this site is extremely talented and I don't have the right to say that I'm better than anyone. No matter how good you are there is always someone better.A few of you seemed mighty upset because of my over confidence and I have learned from my mistakes. Im still going to write confident poems but Im am going to just watch how I do it.I guess I just wanted to be good like everyone on this site. more…
