Analysis of Most Unusual Way

Perry Campanella 1948 (FL)

I watch you at play each day,
as these days roll on by
you are most happy in a most unusual way
somehow you conquer fear for wild friends why

for this alone I fear to stop on by
can we ever be friends in a natural way
will I disturb your moments to see eye to eye
as you do with your jungle friends - ay

could their be a moment, a day, when we can say
we can be friends in our own unusual way
Oh! I'd like that to happen some day
how about today - want to come out to play

Oh! I wish I had nerve enough to say how about today
sad truth is, a nerve in my DNA is missing
how do I come close to you frollicing with wild friends ay
really - elephants to play with, not my style for kissing

I can't help walking past this zoo on my way to school
you are at work, quite a bit older too
age isn't a common denominator for friendship - cool
are their any rules for saying Hi, Hello! to you?

Perry Campanella

I first started writing songs, so I thought - at ten years-old ( so young ) I didn't let anyone see them and burned all for a great fire. I was later encouraged to write by a nun - a Catholic nun, whom did hear me singing while washing pots n pans, after which she provided me a slice of her pie and saidyou need to join our choir for the talent you have needs not pots n pans to drown-out your lovely voice; Shy then and now I did as she asked; So she would come -by to hear me sing. after which another slice of pie would be offered. We would sit together and write poetry and to this day I haven't washed a single pot or pan! Though I'll bet-ya I can "spot a poem to pen" more…
