Sunshine On Our Solitude

We so shut-in, recluse, in-cased, ice body immersed,
conscious my body without function, dreams are all,
light is sunshine, to move toward, visions be fulfilled
Dreams in this light, aid my appendages move beyond,

Travel is possible, yet frozen nor one step we take,
should we leave a dream, any prison would be a relief,
from this flat, horizontal position, we rise, we wake,
never have we known such a prison place, only grief

Confined, for our cure, yet hope, not forever trapped,
pneumonia doomed in our problems, others will relate,
too, ere pain endured, by wearing our problem,
though shut-in, dreams are as sunshine on our solitude.

Perry Campanella

I first started writing songs, so I thought - at ten years-old ( so young ) I didn't let anyone see them and burned all for a great fire. I was later encouraged to write by a nun - a Catholic nun, whom did hear me singing while washing pots n pans, after which she provided me a slice of her pie and saidyou need to join our choir for the talent you have needs not pots n pans to drown-out your lovely voice; Shy then and now I did as she asked; So she would come -by to hear me sing. after which another slice of pie would be offered. We would sit together and write poetry and to this day I haven't washed a single pot or pan! Though I'll bet-ya I can "spot a poem to pen" more…
