Analysis of It Feels Like Subversion

Sometimes the flesh betrays
while the mind is clear.
It feels like subversion when symptoms appear.
Sometimes the mind betrays
while the flesh is fine.
It feels like subversion when symptoms malign.
Sometimes the heart betrays
while the soul is fit.
It feels like subversion when symptoms outwit.
Sometimes the soul betrays
while the heart is true.
It feels like subversion when symptoms subdue.
Sometimes the hope betrays
while the faith is tough.
It feels like subversion when symptoms rebuff.
Sometimes the faith betrays
while the hope is high.
It feels like subversion when symptoms belie.
