Analysis of Interloper

I reached this place as a clear, clean slate
Though some say I brought along my fate
My first taste, excruciating pain
As I felt life flowing through my veins
My own cries, the first sound I heard
The first sights were unclear, blurred
First feel was this place being so cold
All it took to change it was one loving hold
There were no expectations, there were no fears
Strange, considering this journey began with tears
Many years have passed since then
I found and lost innocence in mayhem
I gasped and wondered at every new sight
Found fascination in both dark and light
Until those wonders became common place
And with newer attractions they were replaced
The meaning, the reason, the purpose of my being here
Sometimes it drives my mood to the edge of despair
There are no real answers for the most baffling questions I face
Being content with believing blindly is too much for me to brace
Just as these questions occupy and trouble my mind
It is also inhabited by pleasurable feelings of many kinds
I find solace in pleasure; I'm moved when I see pain
Attempts to make sense of it all always end in vain
So, I'm chasing happiness, avoiding sorrow
I keep trying hard to build a better tomorrow
Learning to enjoy both sunshine and rain
Attempting to take intellect to a higher plane
Feeling the bliss of that feeling called love
Drowning in it and seeing my heart soar above
