Analysis of Hum Hummingbird Hum

saw you on a bright blue tuesday
walking your dog
when i asked if you had a cigarette
but you just walked away lost in your own thoughts

you had green knee high socks
and a lotta lip gloss
just humming to something
that sounds so fun and loving

you had on a vintage green dress
but your hair was just a mess
your shoes were blue and red
but i was mesmerized by your eyes, i must confess

all i wanted to do was to talk to you
cause you seemed just like my type
but you just skipped to the sizzling beat
of an carefree airborne kite
