Analysis of future leaders

I was in a college gymnasium
there for my best friends sisters graduation
as I stared at all the college graduates
their naieve faces smiling
because they're supposed to
their parents crying
trying to hold on to the proudest moment
of their lives
for as long as they possibly can
because they know
the countries job situation
is not good
neither is their credit
but the student loan worries can wait
because today is the day they've been waiting for
and paying for
along with the rent
the groceries
the clothes
the books
the drugs they dont know about
the car that makes life convienient
the car insurance that makes that car legal
the gas that gets that car to the dealer
and all the other little essentials
to any college student
but today is the parents day
and to them its worth every penny
they watch their children
like they are dreaming
they anticipated this moment
from the moment they met their children
and soon it all ends
and they ask their children
if they would like to spent the evening with them
the son
the daughter
declines
and asks them for some money
to go on a bar crawl
the first night
of the rest of their lives
the next ceaser
is somewhere playing beerpong tonight
