the eye of the beholder

She is beautiful
because she doesnt know it
her soft voice
that she calls shy
and akward
sounds like jazz
on a cool summer evening
soft
slow
and intoxicating
the way she
looks to the ground'
to hide her beautiful eyes
makes me want to chase them
like a high
the way she shrugs off
any compliment
as politeness
makes me feel humble
the way her lips
are so pink
without any lipstick
makes me want to kiss them
even more
and the way she thinks
that men dont desire her
makes me desire her
even more
the world is full of
ugly people
who think theyre
beautiful
and tonight
im falling for a beautiful girl
who believes
she is ugly
which makes her
all the more
beautiful
