Analysis of Face The East

Long before the break of dawn
while faith remains in place,
I awake to face the East and dwell on kindly grace.

Long before the break of dawn
while innocence is best,
I awake to face the East and put my truth to test.

Long before the break of dawn
while plans are incomplete,
I awake to face the East and take my pilot's seat.

Long before the break of dawn
while unfettered by doubt,
I awake to face the East and use my prayerful clout.

Long before the break of dawn
while worlds in stillness sleep,
I awake to face the East and let my promise keep.
