Analysis of Erased By Waves

Love-notes erased by waves from sands
Melted ice cream in children's hands
Puppies and kittens soon mature
The blush of youth will lose allure

Inventing schemes humans connive
And grand philosophies contrive
"Reason to be," a central core
The existential they explore

The cactus blooms for its own sake
No hidden motives to awake
Unquestioned purpose, plan well-laid:
"Live fully in the sun, then fade"

How quickly are the moments gone
As transient lodgers we move on
"Carpe Diem," the clarion call
This day the here and now is all
