Analysis of Dad, in remembrance of you.

This is for you Dad, to let you know that I still love you.
In spite of the fact of what you did, what you put our family through.

You weren't the perfect dad, but you were my very own.
The dad that raised me, the only one I've ever known.

You taught me how to love, but also how to fear.
You taught me of the dangers, of when you were near.

They weren't always just bad times, I have fond one's too.
Which leads to the inner turmoil, that I constantly go through.

My feelings are all mixed up in me deep inside.
That's why it's taken me this long, not to try and hide.

Sometimes I wonder why you kept your demons so well hid.
Our friends, they all loved you, with them you would laugh and kid.

Sometimes I want to hate you, which only makes me want to cry.
We never had the time to iron things out, which makes my heart sigh.

I never wanted to tell anyone what exactly you've done.
But I can't move on, till it's out in the open, then my battle will be won.

Our family kept your secrets hid, that's just a fact.
It was our families solemn oath, it was our families pact.

I just can't do it anymore, dad please forgive me, I do implore.
I want to be freed from the chains that bind me, Dad, I just want more.

Dad, you'd be so proud of me and the woman I have become.
So as I give you your forgiveness, I also ask for some.

In my heart you will always be.
Hopefully now, taking care of me.
