Once our innocence has been taken.

Once our innocence has been taken.
It's our very core that has been shaken.

We feel as if we can never get it back.
It's hard for us to find the right track.

Even though we weren't to blame.
The end result is always the same.

We blame ourselves for what the others did.
We want to erase ourselves, or just keep hid.

This isn't the way to live our life.
So full of guilt and endless strife.

We need to look and find ourselves again.
It doesn't matter how long it takes til then.

Only then, can we truly be free.
Of our misdirected, sad reality.

It isn't our fault, when we didn't have the choice.
So let's stand up to them, and let's use our voice.

If we don't, we just sit there and let them win.
To me that would be tragic, the biggest sin.

So let us try to overcome our fears, so that they can't rule us anymore.
And that in turn, we'd gain our freedom, we'd no longer feel like a chore.
