Analysis of Better Today
julie leyraud 1960 (USA)
Memories of old fill my feeble mind,
Happy one's release me, sad ones bind.
A smile, a tear, an intense moment of fear,
All mixing together moments of yester year.
I bathe in the years of cold and warm,
Sands of time show my body forlorn.
My feet have carried me low and high,
Terrains of my life, the legacy of why.
Winds of my life at times blew me down,
Yet deep within, many sails I found.
Rain! ever present in journies untold,
Shelter I sought, to go on, be bold.
Sunshine beams radiate diamonds of time,
Diamonds that were once coal, sparkle, shine.
Years that seem like they would never end,
Pictures flash by, spiders their web spin.
One lapping the other as though yesterday,
Reminded am I, memories to better today.
