Analysis of A Cool Drink of Water

Admiration floods my soul,
the water covers my mouth, my head,
drowning me until I breathe
 the sweet scent of awe.
I defend you to my last breath,
even when your help hurts
and bloodies the purity of the blue-white
ocean I reside in.
My hand reaches out,
searching for something more,
and is filled with a tender touch,
one that has always pulled me through.
Curled up to hide,
I want to shy away, run away,
to save myself
from the sharpened sword of hurt.
But, your hand
clears away the murky waters,
so once again I can breathe,
once again I can live.
