Analysis of "Time Heals Everything"

Severed ties are repaired
by the subtle creeping
of forgetfulness,
of blowing the house down.
Remind me again
why I can’t remember
the awful words spoken,
the lies and the blame.
Remind me again
of the pain,
of the bubble of silence
and all those blunt needles.
In your devious way,
you step in just as
my memory starts to slip away,
forgetting to warn me.
Uncover and discover
the yellowing marks of bruising
across my heart,
then remind me.
You nickel and dimed my life away,
taking bits of my naivety
every time you go,
and that I cannot forget.
