Analysis of Penny for Your Thoughts

To go into your head, to see what I’d find.

I’d pay all the riches in the world, to go deep into your mind.

To have a vivid image of what runs through your head.

Would it be regrets?

Or words that you whispered to me last night while in bed.

Would it be of moments we spent together?

or of times you spent alone?

Are they thoughts of the present

or moments that are now long gone?

So what are you thinking ?

What’s running through your head ?

Is it that past affair,

Or the NEW love that you’ve found?

Do you have thoughts of your goals and dreams?

And how to make them come true?

Or are you simple minded

and simply do not have a clue?

Whatever the case may be,

I wish I could see

I’d pay a penny for your thoughts

Even the ones  that are petty.

I’d pay my last cent to look through your eyes,

and hear your thoughts;

would I be surprised?

Would you feel guilty or have no shame?

Would I see you differently

Or would I look at you the same?

Do you remember the first night you realized

your feelings towards me?

Do you fantasize about other women

And how sex with them would be?

The mind is the only secret diary that one person can have.

A place to keep your secrets

both present and past

A personal book in the head, dedicated to yours truly,

So just keep your penny.

I wouldn’t invade your personal space.

Because Sometimes what you’re thinking is obvious

and It’s written all over your face.
