Analysis of If only I could help

Merdi Bakembo 2003 (Matadi)

She seemed so lifeless
Tormented by the spirits that
kept her restless
She shedded tears
brought by the agony of her fears
Her body pinned to the ground
making it impossible
for her to turn around
Matt that's why she couldn't see
cause had she seen
she could have been free
She stayed down as if
obliged to the pain
I saw her pale face reach
up to touch the rain
The water flowed through her dress
but somehow it did not
wash away her stress
I turned and I kept her gaze
It felt as if time froze
but she saw the helplessness
in my eyes
maybe she knew I couldn't help her
So I walked away
with a heavy burdened heart
If only I could help
and not just help
but help her
