Analysis of by the shores of the zuider zee
Once upon a time in a queer little town, by the shores of the Zuider Zee
Alone on the night before Christmas
a strange thing happened to me
When suddenly one of the sparks began
to flicker, and glimmer and blink
like a big bright eye
till I hardly knew
what to do, or to say, or to think
(learned this from my grama, born in 1888, it is all I can remember, and a lot is missing.
