Analysis of Fireglow

I love listening to the fireplace
on cold dark winter nights
when no one else is talking
and it casts the only light

We’ve spent pleasant hours together,
the fireplace and I,
for it spins the most wonderous tales
of days to come and things gone by

To set the stage I stack some logs
and place the kindling just so
then light the tinder and settle back
wrapped warm in fireglow

The logs crackle and pop as they burn
and the flames dance so sinuously
all joined in primeval rhythm,
the fireplace talks to me

And, as the fireplace unfolds its story
with the flames acting out the scenes,
in marvelous precision they weave
an enchanted web….a net of dreams
