Analysis of Haunted by Decay

Haunted by Decay

Windows and doors warped in frame
and the shadows cast have faded
distant memories the walls remember
the hope the life the death.

Everyone goes away.

Once upon a yesterday
room for living and bed, was busy
all roads led to this Rome
to families who loved this home.

The weeds own this place
survived prejudice to roses
and the wind through the eaves
calls unanswered, spindrift

to damp halls absolutely

and the litter flies
nowhere near and now here
searching for a reason
to stay awhile, maybe pile up

Juxtaposition to decades
of decay before
the demolition,  comes.
The ghosts run this town now

maybe they always did...
Decay,
resistance is futile.
