Analysis of Sunsets We Can’t Share
Sunsets We Can't Share
The echo of your laughter haunts the stairwell now,
A phantom melody in rooms where silence reigns.
We built a castle on the moon, swore vows beneath the willow,
Yet time has shifted tides, and washed away the plains.
Your eyes, once oceans where my soul would swim,
Are glacial pools reflecting skies I cannot claim.
The firefly spark, that danced within your grin,
Flickers like a dying ember, whispering our name.
We speak the same language, but the words are cold,
Each syllable is a shard that cuts with chilling grace.
Our hands, once intertwined, now tell a different story,
Two branches on a tree, growing in separate space.
I trace your ghost upon the faded photograph,
The lines carved deep upon our younger, happier face.
But years have etched their own, a cruel and silent graph,
Leaving strangers where once love had found its place.
In your life’s dance, you reflected skies’ vibrant hues,
Amidst shattered vows, our paths amble anew.
After all the broken promises, sorrows holds sway,
And now I’ll watch the sunsets we can’t share as they fade away.
And oh, the irony, the bitter truth it holds,
That even in the mirror, I cannot find the same.
The mirrored gaze reflects a stranger, weary, cold,
Lost in time's relentless game.
So I release you, ghost of what we were,
With tearful gratitude for sunlit days.
And though the ache will linger, sharp and clear,
I'll learn to love the stranger in the maze.
For even shattered hearts hold whispered light,
A testament to what was, though it is gone.
And in the ruins, where dreams took flight,
I'll build a haven, till a new dawn.
