Analysis of Dark whispers

Doreene Felder 1967 (Phila.)

Dark whispers inside of my walls
Some  days it appears much closer
On the other side of the  wall
Some words negative
Brought with  a laugh  and a smile
While evil subsides
And jitters a while
What appears to be friendly
Was like a murderer
Looking in your eye.
But the voice from with in
Had a prayer for the child
For he was taught what he knew
Not what he felt in his heart.
What he really needed
Was a brand new start
