Analysis of Dad

Dad
There were not enough years to make more memories, but I am thankful that I still have so many. These words are for you, and yes I know how much you hate sappy stuff, but I also know it meant a lot to you know that I had happy memories.

The sun glistens off the ripples and she is mesmerized watching that little red and whate bobber on the top of the water.
Patience Scooter he says, watch the end of that pole, and keep your eyes on that line. They are biting, you are going to catch one anytime.
Now shes watching as the  tallest trees shes ever seen wiz by, dads made her a tire swing. He pushes here higher and higher and she closes her eyes headed toward the sky,
Thanks daddy she thinks I can fly.
She's in the back of Sno0py with her little brother and cousin too.
Dads loaded us up because he's found a mountain he wants to four wheel the top to.
He adjust the rearview mirror, says hang on, and bam off like a shot from a gun.
Up Snoopy goes tipping us kids and the backseat over, Dads laughing so hard I can see the shakes in his shoulders.
The smell of Christmas is in the air, lights and trees everywhere. They approach the stand, “Hey there Bob”, dad says to this man.
With a look of shock, and confusion you could tell this Bob thinks I must know this man well.
Through the rows of trees, searching for the perfect one,Dad chats him up as if they are long lost friends.
As we load up in the truck to return home,Dad bust up laughing saying the poor fella didn't realize he had his nametag on.
She has to hold dads oversized hardhat on as she climbs in the bucket for some fun.
Ready he says and pulls the lever. It rocks a bit and then starts to rise, this is awesome she thinks and my dad gets to do this all the time.
Her red boot laces stand out, but her feet remain still trying not to make a sound. They are in the woods, and he knows there are deer around.
Quiet he says and points, see it just over there between the trees. Now pull up slowly and take aim cause today your hunting with Dad and are bagging your first game.
Ready Little Dan it's your song. The music gets louder as their favorite part gets ready to come on,  ”Wake up, wake up,wake up and look around you. We’re lost in space and time is our own.” At the top of our lungs we all sing along, and before we know it the whole Steve Miller album is done.
The kitchen is releasing yummy smells, and Dad says come here Scoot I'm going to teach you to make noodles. To this day that chicken soup is something i make a little memory to smile about with every scoop.
Its snack time and dad loves a laugh. Come here guys have a bite of this he says with a grin, they look at each other and shrug, why not they say seems to be something he loves.
Now their cheeks are picked and tears in their eyes, OMG Dad they say that's frickin sour. These days you may find us eating this treat, or maybe even pickled peppers and cauliflower.
And I can't forget his favorite, elbow macaroni and tomato juice, runny though, he didn't want a  paste to muck through. With a dash or 20 of seasons all, its done .
And now you have Kascak spaghetti for one.
The TV is blaring as the announcer talks about the upcoming show. There are so many snacks and foods covering the coffee table.  We are all in orange and blue because it's all about the Denver Broncos.  We didn't understand the chatter or the calls, but we knew to be excited when our team had the ball. “Get there Elway”, they would say jumping up and down and biting their knuckles too, all this excitement even in pre season, but we learned a die hard fan goes all the way, they don't need a reason. God Bless Football season.
These are just a few of the awesome memories of you Dad. We only get one and no matter what you think there is nothing I wouldn't do to keep the one we have. I don't know what you were going through, no one in the world knows what it was like to be you.
But I hope you hear me when I say we all loved you each and every day. They say this sadness will fade, it seems now to good to be true but Thank You Dad for loving us, and making all these memories to hang on too. Oh and dont worry I wont conform and get that Stupid shot like the sheep do. lol
  I LOVE YOU ALWAYS DAD
LOVE YOUR SCOOT.

About this poem

I lost my dad in 2019, and it remains unsolved. Writing is how I cope, and I had so much I wanted him to know stayed with me all my life.
