Analysis of PILGRIM'S WATCH

I've seen the world burning
In flames of hated desire
The years keep on turning
As evil fans the fires
Trust a dream we stand,
Secure in the Promised Land

I was born far from my Home
But Lord I'm striving to return
The world crumbles while I roam
My hope we can't ever  earn
I stand in the Light of Grace
Lord keep me through the Race

What the world longs deeply for
Lord you give freely to Your own
Peace that's more than lack of war
Is only found before Your Throne
Stand beside me in your loss
Here before His Cross

I've seen this world still weeps
The loss of Eden long ago
I've seen that Serpent still creeps
Every step, wherever I may go
But this world isn't my Home
Just the land I now roam

For my Home, even Eden pales
My Home, calls me every day
Like a pilgrim in ancient tales
This road shortens on the way
Even now I see the glow
Of my true Home start to grow

Pilgrims do you watch this world burn?
Weeping with them for Eden's loss?
Or by this poem did you learn
To bow in peace before the Cross
Looking ahead on this narrow road
As Christ Himself, lightens our load
AMEN

About this poem

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
