Paa Ungdommens friske Rosenblad
Staaer at reise med Solskin skrevet;
Det er for den Ældre et Aandens Bad,
En Stund af hans Foraar gjenlevet;
Den Yngre med Et seer sin Hverdagshistorie
Gaae frem i den deiligste Glands og Glorie.
Men da det nu ikke blev Alle forundt
At flyve til fremmede Lande,
Faae Yduns Æblet forfriskende sundt
Med Runer om fremmede Strande,
Saa griber den Hjemmeblivende glad
Den hjembragte Blomst og betragter hvert Blad,
Thi der staaer, hvad seet er og levet;
Det er ham hans Reise — Kom med, Du ham bad!
Paa Ungdommens livsfriske Rosenblad
Har at reise med Solskin Du skrevet.
