Analysis of Happy Time

Elusive as sand through my fingers
Rarer than a total eclipse
The Sun becomes a shadow
Across the open sky
Darkness defiles the day
Turning into night
So goes my joy
Disappearing and erasing
The smile on my face
Taking away
My happy time.

Depression does a slow blade
Insidiously in my mind
Drowning my thoughts
In the mire and mud
It corrupts my emotions
Subtle as rain
Or heavy as the weight
Of a million sorrows
Repeating showers
Melancholy
Drenching
My happy time.

How incredible does a breeze
Blow such fresh air
So very benevolently
Soothing my sorrows away
Drying my tears
Wrapping an embrace
All around my body
And aching mind and heart
Kind words and gestures
Healing and restoring
My happy time.

The joie de vivre my life seeks
Finds me when I let go
Anguish from things
Beyond my control
Bullies, tyrants
And traumas
Weaken with time
The great salve
Binding misery
Releasing
My happy time.

The beautiful silence of quiet
Returns me to peace
Sitting so still
The dreadful dissatisfaction
Dissolves and disappears
My aperture expands
Extending my care
I feel good again
Confidence comes back
Resurrecting
My happy time.
