Analysis of Words finality
Barry W Smith 1963 (Laon)
The time has come
I do regret
That words I spoke
I did not vet
If I could eat
The words I've said
I would eat and eat
Until they're dead
I'd have a meal
Of all I spoke
I'd cram them down
And try not to choke
The memories of them
Would be gone for good
No longer harming
As only words could
But eat I can't
Try as I may
Once out of the mouth
That's where they stay

About this poem
This poem brings me back to reality when I get to thinking too much about my abilities, as if I have it all together. How many times I spoke first then thought.
