Analysis of Good Shepherd
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
The Lord is my shepherd,
I shall not desire;
I adhere to His Word,
Gives what I require.
I lie in green meadows,
Led by the still waters;
Soothes me in the shadows,
Food and drink He offers.
He has restored my soul,
And walk the righteous path;
His namesake I console,
Sparing me from His wrath.
I walk through the dark vale,
Of the shadow of death;
Fear will never prevail,
He gives me righteous breath.
I will fear no evil,
For the Lord is with me;
He averts the devil,
His rod has made him flee.
He sets a feast for me,
In front before my foes;
Sustained by His decree,
As my cup overflows.
Oil poured on my head,
Mercy shall follow me;
In His house, I am fed,
While living sin free.
