Analysis of A Lingering Hurt
A Lingering hurt
By Nancy Rodriquez
As drugs slowly take over your mind,
and darkness reaps the benefits of your soul,
within me, I find it harder to find,
you have been sinking to a new low,
One day you are happy and in control,
the next, you do not wish to bother,
A lingering hurt is then felt in my soul,
and fresh tears are falling one after another,
The heartbreak cries out for the pain to go,
and I am questioning if we knew love at all,
it is a hard pill to swallow,
and the next move is your call,
inside, I feel hallow,
You once were my Superman, who could never fall,
Our lives entwined no more, shattered in pieces.
