Here I stand again
One more vape
Will I be strong enough?
What do my vices shape

Who am I, while I cling, embrace
To these hopeless things
That I truly hate

Do they really help me
No, not really
Simply they leave, a false sense of security

Do they solve my problems or do they cause more harm
Warm reassurance,
A soothing moment, or more alarm

When this object continues to rematerialize in my hand
Did I pick it up again, when?
I do not understand

My life needs no new road blocks
I fit in their place
Enough shit to talk
Behind me or to my face

A good mentor to be
I wish for my kids
Do as I do
Not to do what I did

But today is the last day
Reassured I am
I solemnly swear, I say,
This won’t be back in my hand
