Analysis of Day of the Lord
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Since all things are to be dissolved,
What sort of person you will be;
Godliness life as evolved,
With knowledge and wisdom to see.
Waiting for and hasten the day,
When Heaven is set on fire;
Perishing all who disobey,
Melting all earthly desire.
But the promise of a new earth,
A new Heaven righteously dwell;
God in giving us a new birth,
Satan to be banished to hell.
Since you are waiting for such things,
Be diligent you may be found;
Without spot nor blemish that clings,
Be at peace till you hear the sound.
Account that the longsuffering,
Of our Lord as salvation;
His wisdom gives you buffering,
As being His new creation.
