Analysis of Once

All the ones who went away
who filled my life until the day
there came a change I did not see
when they did leave and went away

Memories now just remain
of what was before the day
yet they now do fade away
of what was before that day

Now I sit quiet dark
thinking of all that’s lost
memories just of what was
that do slowly fade away

Days do still quickly fly
endless do the years go by
and I do continue on
further from what once was

once there was what I recall
shadows of memories that do fade
of before there came a change
and they all did go away
