Analysis of Under the Golden Autumn Sun

Under the blistering sun
Of the year 2022,
I remain cool and cozy at home
With little to do
But to jot down some obscure verses
That will soon be heard.
Now that I am retired,
I can look back and laugh
At the folly of my youth.
Was my life a tragicomedy,
Or was it a plain old spoof?
Did the Lord reach out to me
To save me from peril
Or was he just trying to cheer me up?
I have no followers
And live in seclusion.
The less said,
The less confusion.
My pursuit of fortune and fame,
Remains unfulfilled,
Yet, I am happy nonetheless
Because that is God's will.
