The Brouhaha Began

Stephen Fernbach 1959 (New York)

The brouhaha began
When the sh*t hit the fan.
This may not be hard to understand
Because it took place in a foreign land.
Here in America.
We all have our say
As long as it is done in a tactful way.
Still there are times when I wonder why
Intolerance makes random bullets fly
And innocent people tragically die..
America is the home of the brave
And the land of the free
Except to those who lose their sanity.
So save your money and pay your bills.
Remember that in this country,
Poverty could kill.
If you are fortunate enough to achieve wealth,
Then I wish you long life and good health.

You write well. I enjoy how your words and grammar ease the mind and tell a clear story. Emotions wellup and thoughts get piqued. Thank you.
