Analysis of Blood, Sweat and Tears

I watched through the window into yesterday

Abused like a virgin in a lare of sadists.

Fragile, sacred you,

Broken, shattered, grounded

In a repeated smash of rage

Butchered, like a dear

Caught in a trap of fangs,

Moaning, writhing, groaning

In blood, sweat and tears

Muttering for strength to keep on.

Lord of creation,

I watched you stagger on to greatness

Falling, crawling then rising

To stagger and fall again and again

With a will like something that holds all things together

But as an Offering could not sustain it's alter on the way to sacrifice.

King of glory,

I saw them mess you up; naked

Deformed, ridiculed and dirty,

You stank like a corpse,

Whip, dust and curses gracing

Your triumphant entry into Golgotha.

I saw you skewered and roasted

Then served to mother Earth,

But in her bowel never digested

So she purged you out the third day

Tell me you did it for the name

Tell me you enjoyed it but in disguise.

Tell me this picture has more impasto

Or else tell me it was but a journey of Love.
