Analysis of Not Alive without Loss
You shun being if you block emotion,
and disavow all feel that may be there,
just out of fear that a new devotion
to grace well found around you somewhere
will end in loss, a hurt you couldn’t bear.
Still, of this sea, the waves urge you to meet,
leading the way. Once lifted off your feet
they will drag you along in their deep dive,
sudden raisings, till your shivers can fleet,
and you’ll admit to the forces of life.
