Analysis of Comforted And Snuggled Up

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

Our united mistakes made,
Has us all...
Living in the state,
In a medicated denial.

Many have lived taught to refuse,
The agony of suffering through...
A defending the fiction,
Of our protected to value delusions.

The walls and ceilings,
Of our treasured foundations...
Are crumbling to implode.
Not from the outside but within.

Leaving those who choose to ignore,
Their own unconscious...
Blind to follow the cheese,
Like mindless mice.
That ultimately triggers off a device,
Guaranteeing...
Their comforted,
To snuggle up way of life...
They ignorantly assisted in its destruction.

Believing...
With a selling sold to tell extremely well,
That...
The cats, rats and gutter lowlife dogs.
Charading to imitate in masquerade,
Cheese dip makers, tasteful chip bakers...
And renovators of their gilded kingdom.
Were not actually the exterminators,
Endorsed to support and highly paid.
By those dressed in costumes,
With smiles glistening bright.
In custom and tailored made to fit...
And acceptance of welcomed pretense.
By wealthy gutter dwellers!
Who themselves were disguised,
As representatives of a power...
They themselves faked to create.

'Uh...
All we heard,
Had been this very loud bang.
Then the walls,
Like Jericho came a crumbling down.'

'And...
You claim to have witnessed,
Blind mice, cats running with rats.
And barking dogs?
Ripping off elaborate costumes?
Is that right?'

'Yes.
Yes, officer.
This I saw with my own eyes.'

'I am the gardener.
And also...
The weed whacker.'

'To then do what,
With these weeds you whack?'

'After that,
All I know is...
Most are boiled.
And others the seamstress,
Uses to enhance...
The codpieces she makes.
The master wears,
During dinner dates.
And other determined special occasions.'

'I...uh...
If I need further information,
I will be in touch.
But for now...
Stay where you are.
More and more with each day,
I am suppose to report...
Activities like these as a crime scene.
To become material used for Reality TV.'

'Tell me about it.
I use to get paid for planting flowers.
With a nourishing them to bloom.
Today?
It's all about,
Enhancing the growing of weeds.
For health benefits and smudge usage!
And...
Trying to keep,
Our residents and guests...
From believing themselves,
Used and abused Disney characters.'

'Yep.
The times are quickly leaving normalcy!'

'I love it.
Until these three bears come around.
Huge dudes with sickles in their hands.
Pretending they are owners,
Of the very ground we walk upon.
Talking smack and smelling of B.S.'

'Between you and me.
How do you do it?'

'I take my shears.
To then hold the weeds...down.
Like this.
And then...'

'No.
I mean...
Work around here and appear normal.'

'As God is my witness.
I don't pass judgment.
And when folks got money?
None of it can save them,
From losing their minds.
Or...
Mine.
I get paid to look the other way.
But...
That is becoming more and more difficult.
Especially,
When one sees a circus come to town.
And never leaves!

Officer?
I only appear to you to be normal,
Because neither one of us...
Can afford to be nuts.
And be chosen to sit as board members.
Convincing established businesses,
To follow the opinions...
Of those obviously out of their,
Masquerading to charade having sanity...
Minds.
Since none of that is around them,
Found to find.
They fear their delusions,
Are on a daily basis being attacked.'

'I can not believe,
I am looking at grown people...
Dressed as wolves.
Behind those trees over there.
Squeezing into sheep costumes.'

'Sippers of the brew.
Killers of reality.'
