Analysis of Há Mil Velas

Renato Sakate 1978 (Botucatu)

Indefectível obra de meu Pai
tens a beleza das belezas belas
Tens o formato próprio para as telas
és a virtude, como o amor e a paz.

Ah! Nos teus olhos não vejo mazelas
O teu perfume... não posso ter, mas
ao longe sinto-me perto de um cais
cujo destino é o teu colo; e há mil velas...

E me desperto na eterna lembrança
das linhas tênues, dos teus lábios finos
das sobrancelhas negras e a tez branca.

Róseo o teu semblante e dórios teus brincos
tens no cabelo o oriente e na esperança
dos teus a herança, de Deus, serafins...
