Analysis of GARBAGE HEAP
A beggar woman standing
By the garbage heap
As if 'mid the past hours
Of so many lives,
Meals that have been had
Together or in solitude,
And many things
That were precious once,
Memories of events,
Joys that are forgot,
Encapsulated in garbage, lie
In a living death.
She stands
As if wanting to draw
Her present from others' past
Somehow and despite myself
I grudge
Her cheating us out of our lives.
