Analysis of STRANGE CHANGE

The bitterness is very explicit
Against a man at his very worst
Is doing his very best
To pull his nation away from the pit

Everyone belittles him in their own way
He is a leper in everyone's sight
Thrown out of the house
Chased away with the old woman's stick like a hairless mouse

So l asked what are his crimes
They laughed me to scorn
Saying, you won't understand at all
Because foreigners don't have his time

All l heard is, he promised a change
The people were jubilant in dances and songs
Chanting in deafening choruses down the town
Indeed, there is a change, what then is strange

I was also told of their former
Who was simple, he couldn't kill a house fly
They reviled, chased him out like an evil child
In his simplistic style, he warned them and smiled

The regret is splashing on their faces
Their stomachs bear the brunt of their choice
Their tales are headlined as scary
Even foreigners like me get wary
