Analysis of Death Vision

Moath Ahmad Al alem 1947 (Palestine)

When the last minute of my life has come to its end,
And fairy angels of Heaven attend to my bed,
To lift my soul up to its Heavenly Friend,
To my Lord and Savior what else should I dread!

For sins have burdened my weary soul,
And piled up to fill its unfathomed limits,
Where one wouldn’t have any chance to fall,
Within the grace of God without winning his credits.

They voiced their greeting and lined up in wait,
For Heaven orders to begin their action,
While Satan so anxious hiding by the gate,
To perform his last endeavor and sign the contraction.

He fumbled and grumbled and ground his teeth,
In anger and furry then fired his spell,
In hope to lure my wanton nature beneath,
And seal his deadly commission … driving me to Hell.

But,” Hail to God”, there came the hymn,
From Angels around in praise for the Lord,
This made the ugly Satan vanish in a grim,
In search for another soul, for mine wouldn’t afford.

“Repent son of Adam”, all sounded their voice,
“And let thy heart to your Lord be open,
And mind no trouble for Heaven is your choice,
To dwell there for ever, in the fantasy of Eden”.

“Repent son of Adam, for time has arrived,
To meet your Heavenly father, creator of all,
To weigh you against your sins and actions strived,
And decide there after your ascend or fall”.

“Repent son of Adam, and clear your conscience,
Your wicked nature and your sinful attire,
Reject the Devil’s kingdom that is void of repentance,
Only Hell is there with its scorching fire”.

“Repent son of Adam”, was their last word,
Before the command has come from Heaven above,
Let thy faith and trust in God be declared,
To win his eternal forgiveness and everlasting love”.

At that moment I heard the dreadful bang,
From angel of death on his first descend,
Angels hustled and rustled all in gang,
To execute the command that God did recommend.

“Bring him to throne”, such said the Arch Angel,
“For he did rebel against Almighty Lord,
And filled the earth with blood and fraud,
And forgot His teachings and killed His herd”.

“Bring him up”, for he had rebelled,
And challenged God’s power and joined His foe,
When he for gold his brother had killed,
As father Adam gave him birth long time ago”.

“He shall be judged and measured on spot,
Before he steps up to join the dwellers,
And if by chance he fails the slot,
To Hell he shall go with his fellow sinners”.

In less than a glance I stood before the throne,
With angels of mercy and those of punishment,
All in silence in His presence, I on the stone,
Standing so small, bewildered in astonishment.

“Welcome dear Son”, God said in greeting,
With a bountiful smile on His graceful face,
While I trembling being unprepared for the meeting,
Scared of losing my credit in this heavenly race.

“Step up dear son, and have no fears,
Cause none in my presence should show his shy,
Spare your eyes these needless tears,
For I am the Just, the ever watchful Eye”.

“And see how your deeds are justly judged,
From birth to death, the end of your run,
When your record has been so widely spread,
For you to read out what have you done”.

I looked and read with much scorn and fear,
Searching my worldly account for something that holds,
Against all sins I did commit though little and dear,
My credit to my astonishment scored two folds.

On my knees I went down prostrating before Him,
“Nay”, said He “stand to your height and ask,
For your wishes will be answered to the brim,
Since you gracefully fulfilled your earthly task”.

“What else should I desire”, said I beyond your heavenly grace,
That gives bless to my heart and appeases my soul,
To stay in your heavenly presence, your bountiful embrace,
That fills me with happiness for once and all”.
