Analysis of THE TIME-KEEPER

Phil Roberts 1957 (Melbourne)

The time keeper keeps time
For everything alive,
Sometimes he'll cut them off
But others he lets survive.

He gives life to those he likes
But steals life from others at a whim,
So whatever else you may do
For God's sake stay in good with him.

He empties out the sands of time
For those, he decides to hate,
Cutting short their lives
Artificially creating fate.

He controls destiny his evil way
Any way that he sees fit,
And no-one dares to argue
Because his word is unholy writ.

He's the keeper of the key
Of life and death for us all,
And those who dare oppose him
Soon take a lethal fall.

He won't brook opposition
From anyone down below,
Below his loft eyrie
That few will ever know.

He does not have to answer
For his evil crimes,
Because as the time-keeper
He's the ruler of all time.
